My name is Tati, and I'm a Graphic Designer, Artist and Educator specializing in book design and brand identities. I help creatives, writers, entrepreneurs and cultural institutions create meaningful, engaging stories.
I've been designing within my own company for the last 6 years. I have freelanced at multiple award-winning design studios in Toronto, a few being Parcel Design, aftermodern.lab, Weaymouth Creative, Cundari, and Clearspace Design. My previous clients have been the Art Gallery of Ontario, Flat Singles Press, Meridian Bank, Dynacare, Lake of Bays Brewing Co, The Leaders Circle, and BMW.
My personal research often focuses on how art and design can benefit the mourning process. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from OCAD University in 2014, and my Master's Degree in Digital Media from Ryerson University in 2018. I started teaching Process for Graphic Designers at OCAD University in 2019.
In my spare time I love taking film photographs, eating Japanese food and learning about astrology.
I'm always up for meeting new people and chatting about design.
My core motivation in design is experimentation and discovery. I love exploring different modes of visual translation; from image to typography, to editorial design and motion graphics. I believe that experimentation drives new and exciting ideas. I am constantly trying to look into different art and design realms such as architecture, printmaking and photography to help communicate my concepts further. In my work I play with perspective through visual or ideation-based formats. I hope to show a different side of design that separates itself from the norm by questioning its surrounding environment and the ideas of the people within it.
